LIQUID DRESSES - The Originals
Polaroid Emulsion Lift
What is a Liquid Dress?
A Liquid Dress is a Polaroid photo that has been split apart while still very fresh. Then the emulsion (the part carrying the photo) is lifted onto a new material. Most often to a piece of watercolour paper. While the emulsion is still wet, I form the emulsion into looking like the shape of a dress.
This is a process that requires much patience and a steady hand. Every Liquid Dress is a unique work of art. All my dresses are numbered individually and signed.
My first Liquid Dress saw daylight, by a happy coincidence, in June 2018 in Copenhagen during an emulsion lift MasterClass and then I just continued to do these little, fragile dresses that are now known by polaroid photographers around the globe.
