Emulsion Lifts

A Polaroid Emulsion Lift is a polaroid photograph that has been torn apart and the emulsion (the piece of the polaroid carrying the actual photo) has been lifted onto another material. Typically, to watercolour paper.

This technique gives the art piece a distinct feel of nostalgia and storytelling that I like very much.

The technique requires alot of patience and a very steady hand. The emulsion cracks easily during transfer as it it extremely thin and delicate.
